Once students are admitted into the Athletic Training Education Program they will be assigned to a Clinical Instructor in one of the TCU athletic training rooms to gain field experience. Clinical Instructors are Certified Athletic Trainers that facilitate the athletic training students education in the clinical setting.

Athletic training students complete clinical rotations through TCU Athletic Training Rooms working with a variety of intercollegiate sports. Sophomroe students complete an off campus rotation with local high school athletic trainers. During the junior year, athletic training students complete a rotation with a physical therapist in the clinical setting. A general medical rotation with the TCU Team Physician/Medical Director in the Senior year.

Athletic training students are evaluated on their proficiency throughout the program. Clinical proficiencies are an assigned set of skills which are formally evaluated each semester in a Clinical Education course and/or in the clinical setting by an Approved Clinical Instructor.
