TCU Leadership in Athletic Training Awards

Awards are given annually to the athletic training students who display exceptional leadership qualities. These awards are given for outstanding performance. Athletic training students are recognized with their name engraved on plaques displayed in the athletic training room. These awards do not have financial awards unless noted below.

 

  •  Ben Hogan Institute Leadership Award (Sophomore Level Athletic Training Student) - $1,000.00 award
  •  M. Neil Sealy Athletic Training Student Leadership Award (Junior Level Athletic Training Student) - a recognition award presented each year during the annual awards banquet sponsored by the TCU Development Office.  Neil was a former Athletic Training student with in our educational program that passed away tragically while heading home to West Texas after the completion of his semester exams.  His family wished to have Neil’s memory remembered for his commitment to the profession of Athletic Training and for his love of TCU.
  •  T. Ross Bailey Athletic Training Leadership Award (Senior Level Athletic Training Student) - a recognition award presented each year during the annual awards banquet sponsored by the TCU Development Office.  This award is presented to a senior within the educational program who has exhibited a commitment while on campus to the educational program and the ongoing development of the Athletic Training Students’ Association during their time here at TCU.  Mr. Bailey was instrumental in the development of the student organization within District 6 (Southwest Athletic Trainers' Association) during his days as a student here at TCU.
  •  Elmer A. Brown Memorial Scholarship for Most Outstanding Athletic Training Student (Senior Level Athletic Training Student) - a recognition award presented each year during the annual awards banquet sponsored by the TCU Development Office.  This recognition is named after Mr. Brown who was a founding member of our national organization, the NATA (National Athletic Trainers’ Association)  During his tenure here at TCU, Mr. Brown was directly involved with the development of many products used by athletic training professionals today.
